Andrea Strand is a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in teen health, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, nutrition and disease prevention. Prior to earning a Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Geography at The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout her career, Andrea has made significant contributions to the healthcare field. She worked as a first responder at the World Trade Center in New York City, following the September 11 attacks. She has also written articles for a number of publications including Touring & Tasting Magazine, The Journal of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Yale Nurse and Scope,  Runner Triathlete News, Runner's World Online, and Running Times Magazine. She was also named Wall Street Journal’s Fit Mom.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Andrea is a mother of two and an accomplished athlete. She has served as a Sub Elite athlete and Ambassador for team Oiselle, Feetures Sock Ambassador, and LuLuLemon Ambassador. Additionally, she has worked as a catalog model for Title Nine sporting clothes and served as the Race Director for The Fax Fall XC Classic. She also competed on the Yale University Cycling Team. She worked as a Pilates and Spin instructor for 15 years, and she is the winner of the inaugural Santa Barbara International Marathon. She continues to enjoy both running and cycling on a competitive level.
